Emmi Website Harmonisation
Emmi is bringing its numerous brand websites onto a central content management system. As a result, Switzerland's largest milk processor has achieved an unparalleled increase in efficiency and reduced the costs per website to a tenth of the previous value. Pure Swissness applies not only to Emmi, but to the entire project.
Initial situation
Emmi delights its customers with unique dairy products in Switzerland, Europe, Asia and North America.
Switzerland's largest milk processor also wants to make an impression online: through smart storytelling, presented in a user-friendly way - across all brands, countries and languages.
80 brands have their own websites with various content management systems (CMS). Efficient brand communication: missing.
Challenge
Emmi's goal was to create a uniform system landscape for its brand websites.
The processes for creating websites and keeping them up-to-date should become more efficient.
We wanted to use synergies between the brands in order to reduce costs.
At the same time, all brands should express their own character and offer users an attractive brand experience.
Solution
Components and templates have a modular structure and are the same for all Emmi brands.
In this way, we create synergies between the brands for the brand managers and, above all, for the users.
The website managers now centrally coordinate the communication of each brand in different languages and countries. Emmi also manages its entire corporate communications via the global corporate website, which has the same structure. This ensures efficient processes, saves time and, not least, costs. Emmi adds new brands flexibly and in record time.

Users experience the Emmi brands with their own look and feel, with a consistently excellent user experience.
The "Themeable Style Guide" enables all brands to create individual design worlds through different fonts, visual languages and colour schemes. At the same time, the underlying components and modules always remain the same. Despite different design elements, the websites are thus perfectly coordinated.

Smart tagging also links content and provides users with more relevant information based on their click behaviour.

Emmi History
Emmi is the major milk processor in Switzerland. Its roots go back to 1907, when it was founded by 62 dairy farmer cooperatives around Lucerne. Over the past 20 years, Emmi has developed into an international, listed group of companies.

Walserstolz History
Since Walserstolz was founded more than 20 years ago, a lot has changed around Großwalsertal mountain cheese. However, the cheese is still made traditionally and from 100% mountain farmer's hay milk.

Result
- Significant increase in efficiency through uniform processes: The average production time per website is only 3 weeks
- Sustainable establishment of a data-driven mindset in the company, which catapults Emmi beyond the project into digital transformation
- We reduced production costs per website on average to one tenth of the previous value
The project exceeded the high expectations. At the same time, this cost and efficiency increase is completely "Swiss Made". Technically implemented by Namics (St. Gallen / Zurich) on the CMS Magnolia (Basel) and the branding platform Frontify (St. Gallen).
