Nina – the creative
Nina is in the fourth year of her apprenticeship as a media technician at Ostermundigen. In the interview, she reveals why it was a good decision to complete her apprenticeship at Emmi.
What does a media technician apprenticeship look like?
First, I did two years of basic media technician training at BiCT, the vocational training centre for information and communication technology. After basic training, you move to a company for the last two years.
What school subjects do you have as a media technician?
I studied marketing, project management, design and computer science at the vocational school.
And which subject do you enjoy the most?
Design is my personal favourite subject because I can let my creativity run free.
Can you describe your apprenticeship in three words?
Versatile, creative and future-oriented.
What qualities should you have as a media technician?
Creativity is the basic prerequisite for the profession. Spontaneity, curiosity and openness to new things are also very important. You never know what kind of project awaits you next. From animation videos to info flyers, everything is possible.
Do you have any plans for after your apprenticeship?
Although I like it very much at Emmi, after the apprenticeship I want to work in a social profession and I will leave the door open to return to Emmi or to media technology later on.
