When Emmi Roth realised that water would become a key sustainability issue for the Emmi Group, the company decided to start identifying and addressing wastewater problem areas a year early.

All locations were involved in the Emmi Roth wastewater project: Platteville, Monroe and Seymour. Teams were then formed on site to work with engineering firms and non-profit organisations. This collaboration facilitated networking and allowed optimal solutions to be found. As a result, Emmi Roth was able to reduce wastewater generation by a total of 9 % in 2020.
The fact that this initiative was launched before water reduction became mandatory for all Emmi locations makes this good project even better – and a true Emmi moment.
